The Far North is certainly on the path to economic recovery, with new statistics showing strong monthly average increases in the number of people employed in the region.An analysis by property advisers Herron Todd White has shown the number of people employed from Cardwell to the Torres Strait stands at 134,900.
That is 700 more jobs than the previous peak level, achieved in September 2008, before the global financial crisis struck.
The average number of job ads in The Weekend Post is also on the rise, with an increase of 19 per cent over the past 12 months.
